DO I NEED A RELIGION?

This is a weird question, I admit; nevertheless, just bringing-up this topic does indicate that it is a very VALID question. Nobody would raise an issue if it was not relevant to the realm of his/her reality. Like nobody would say, I might spend my summer break in Jupiter.

Maybe the attempt to answer this question would embark you into a QUEST that might takes you a very longtime and maybe more to find an answer that would make you feel content within your own soul, that if you care of course, and not just take it from your next door neighbor. We, as creatures, created with this critical thinking mechanism for everything around us as we WANT to understand how things works and why certain things happen to us or to people around us. Unfortunately,  NOBODY has the answers to ALL things in life nor we understand the wisdom behind certain events. You have the privilege to suppress the question all together; however, as we get older it become an urging necessity to find answers to questions like, Why we are here? Where we would go after death? Does something called an "afterlife" really exists?. I am not here to preach anything or have a hidden agenda to this question, but I find that there are so many people who are so puzzled by this question that it is resurfacing in their lives from time-to-time; especially, at times of hardships. I have been asked this question thirty years ago by an American friend and I was so shocked by it because simply I did not expect that kind of questions. However, I did contemplate this question later in my head and I have to admit that I did like it a lot. I said to myself, that's a very good question. You see in a very young age, you do not have much of choices to make as you follow your parents or your guardians and you mimic voluntarily whatever teachings or principles they feed you because simply you do not know any better. However, as you get older, you start to notice people have different ideas, ways-of-life, religions, cultures...etc and you start to compare what you have with what other has. Surprisingly, there are a lot of GOOD things you could adapt from others and urge you to understand your position in universe and where you are heading.

If you have a room filled with people of different faiths and asked them "Who is following the TRUE religion, raises his hand? ALL of them would do that; however, we know for a fact that cannot be true because simply they are all different from each other.

It does not matter the answer to the question, what it matter is the consequence of the answer you chose........
